The ingredients needed to prepare Chhenajhilli modak:
- Prepare 500 ml milk
- Use 2 spoon sour curd
- Prepare 1/2 tbsp semolina
- Use 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour/wheat flour
- Get 1/2 tbsp+1 tbsp cardamom powder
- Get Modak mould
- Get 1/2 tbsp ghee for greasing

- Use 1 cup water
- Get Oil for dip frying
Steps to make Chhenajhilli modak:
- Put the milk on a vessel and allow it to boil.
- When it starts boiling add the the curd to it. It starts curdling. Switch off the flame.
- Strain the Chhena from the whey and hang it for 1/2hour by the help of a muslin cloth.
- Mash the Chhena gently and add flour,sugar(1/2tbsp),semolina and cardamom powder to it.
- Mash it properly.
- Grease a modak mould with ghee. Place the Chhena in it with the dry fruits.
- Demould it. In this way prepare all the modaks.
- Dip fry all the modaks in oil.
- In another sauce pan boil sugar and water to make the sugar syrup for 10minutes. Add cardamom powder to it.
- Then place all the fried modaks in this syrup.
- Switch off the flame after 2minutes.
- The Chhenajhilli modak are now ready for Prasad on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh chaturthi.
